Adriatic sea has one of the most beautiful coasts in the world. Croatian Adriatic coast has more then 1000 islands which puts it in the third place by the number of islands, behind the Norway and Greece.

Croatian culture is one of the oldest in Europe which can be seen all the way along the Adriatic coast. Every coastal city has its Roman history, enriched with Medieval and Renaissance churches and buildings built during the era of two longtime rulers of the Adriatic - Venice and Dubrovnik.
One of the best known cities in Croatia, besides its capital Zagreb, is medieval city of Dubrovnik. Its landlords and merchandisers were one of the richest in the Europe and well known across the whole Mediterranean. They left an old historic city core with famous Dubrovnik walls and fortresses and and with churches and palaces built by the best known medieval builders in the world.

Split, Trogir, Sibenik, Makarska, Zadar, Opatija and Pula.
The biggest Adriatic islands are:
Korčula, Hvar, Brač, Vis, Mljet, Krk, Cres, Lošinj, Pag and Rab.
Croatian national parks along the Adriatic are: Brijuni (former Yugoslav president's Tito residence islands), Northern Velebit, Risnjak, Krka, Kornati (perls of the Adriatic), Mljet (magic island close to Dubrovnik).
