Near the port of Patras and just 12 km from the magic Olympia lies the little Greek town of Katakolon, a great starting point
for the trip to legendary Olympia. Olympia itself is best known for being the place where Olympic Games were being held during
the times of classical Greece. Today it is the place where the Olympic flame is lit to be transported to the city that hosts
the Games.
Enjoy the amazing history of this classical city. The erstwhile city-state and a famous educational and scientific centre,
Athens is today a modern city that lives in harmony with its past. Visit the legendary Acropolis and Parthenon, the old part
of the city, the Temple of Zeus and the city museums. Enjoy the little taverns and typical Greek delicacies, and spice it
all up with a trip to one of the beautiful beaches in the vicinity.
Rhodes, the island-pearl located very near the Turkish coast, belongs to the Dodekanese archipelago. It offers its visitors
an experience of unspoilt nature, enjoyment in long beaches ideal for swimming and sunbathing, as well as many facilities
and day trip opportunities. Visit the town of Rhodes, the island's capital, that will delight you with the remains of the
ancient acropolis and the stadium on top of Mount Smith, the old port, and the fortress of Knights of St. John from the 14th
century. From the town to the east and to the west there are tourist resorts with numerous hotels, amusement parks, luxury
restaurants and simple bars and taverns.
According to Greek mythology, Limassol is the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Even today you can sense a special
atmosphere of the place if go for a stroll following in the footpaths of the Crusaders. Enjoy the incredible Byzantine frescoes,
towers and buildings from the ages of classical Greece and Rome. Today, Limassol is among the most important ports in the
Mediterranean due to its perfect location, between the Sues canal and Europe, and an important tourist centre.
Egypt's biggest port is probably most famous for the old and new Alexandrian libraries and the lighthouse that was thought
of as one of the most notable achievements of the Old Age. Although destroyed in an earthquake during the 14th century, it
is still considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. A plethora of archaeological finds and the charming Mediterranean
coast, together with traditional souks, make for a fascinating combination of the East and the West, giving the city of Alexandria
a quite unique atmosphere.
