The island of Lopud is one of the eastern group of 13 Elafite islands situated between Pelješac peninsula and Dubrovnik. The island is an ideal place for relaxation and spending time in nature far away from the hurly-burly of modern life. No vehicles are allowed on the island, nature is preserved in its purest form; there are several sandy beaches and walking paths near the sea. Lopud is famous for one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the Adriatic called Šunj. It lies on the southern side of the island and you can reach it by taking a slightly adventurous walk. The island of Lopud is connected to Dubrovnik with ferries that drive on a daily basis.
