The island of Cres is the second largest island on the Adriatic. The South of the island, in the town Osor, is connected to the neighboring island of Lošinj by a drawbridge. There is a sweet water lake on the island called Vrana, a natural phenomenon. The island is a natural habitat of the griffon vulture, a very rare bird. The view from the towns of Beli or Lubenice over the sea and cliffs will leave you breathless. Valun is another picturesque place with a pebbled beach. In the town of Cres, island's capital, you can see Renaissance palaces of noble families that used to live on the island.
