The island of Kornat is the largest island in the Kornati island group National Park. Kornati are a true delight for sailors, divers and all people who want a secluded and peaceful holiday in nature. The clear blue sea rich in fish attracts many seagulls.

Kornat was inhabited already in prehistoric times. Evidence to this is a prehistoric stone ax found beneath Padinka hill on the island of Kornat. It is unusual to see miles and miles of stone rock walls, which were made by sheepherders and local population in order to preserve pastures on this modest land. You can reach Kornat or the surrounding islands by boat on an excursion organized by tourist agency which has the permission to organize trips to Kornati.
