Island of Krapanj

The island of Krapanj is the smallest and the narrowest inhabited island on the Mediterranean. Its reefs are habitats to sea sponges and red corals. Krapanj is famous for sponge growing and diving. The island's center is occupied by a village mostly built of stone houses which form a labyrinth of stone streets, characteristic for Dalmatia. There are many lovely buildings one of which is the Convent of the Holy Cross protected by the state. You can find entertainment in several café bars, and if you want to party until the morning we recommend visiting Vodice and Primošten. The island of Krapanj is connected to land by ferry boats driving on a daily basis to Brodarica near Šibenik.
