The island of Vis is situated farthermost from land. Two of the island's largest towns are Vis and Komiža. The Antique town of Vis has naturally protected port. Once a fisherman village, Komiža developed into a pretty picturesque town. The coast of the island is indented and full of hidden bays and beaches such as Gusarica, Nova Pošta or Velo žalo. Near the island of Vis lies the island of Biševo, famous for its Blue cave with illuminated bed – an ideal boat excursion destination. The island of Vis is very popular among yachtsmen and sailors due to its many bays suitable for anchoring. It is also a popular destination for all who wish to relax in the peace and quiet of this enchanting Mediterranean island.
