Departure point: The Our Lady of Skrpjel islet, Kotor, Budva
Surrounded by lofty mountains that reflect in its waters, the fjord-shaped bay of Boka Kotorska goes among the most beautiful
landscapes in the Mediterranean.
We will be sailing along the bay, by way of Risno and the picturesque Perast, the birthplace of many sea captains, to the islet of Our Lady of Skrpjel. The islet is man-made, and the story of its foundation goes like this: when seamen came home safely from their travels, they would throw a rock into the sea. Gradually an islet emerged, and a church dedicated to Our Lady was built on it.
From here we continue towards Kotor, situated deeply in the bay, the safe harbour of the famous Boka Kotorska navy. We will see the sights of Kotor, surrounded with walls and forts, with its beautiful Romanic cathedral of St. Triphun, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Next we visit Sveti Stefan (St. Stephen), a peninsula turned into an exclusive hotel. A visit to Budva next, with leisure time, after which we return to Dubrovnik by ferry across the bay.
