Placed in Ampezzo valley, in the heart of the impressive Dolomites, this ski resort is, besides St. Moritz, Kitzbuhel, Chamonix and so on, among the best known in the world and is Italy's most elite ski resort. It is part of the large Dolomites Superski ski region.
The first Winter Olympic Games were held here in 1956 and the trails where competitions took place can be skied even today. The Alpine World Ski Cup competitions have been taking place in Cortina d’Ampezzo for 30 years. 140 km of ski trails can be skied from December to April, since ski cannons cover over 90% of the area. Unusual rocks that surround the ski trails create a special atmosphere. During winter a large selection of activities is available, while we recommend hiking, mountaineering, alpinism, cycling, horseback riding, kiting, tennis and so on during summer.
